The twist-tie garland on this bulletin board is particularly amazing, if I may say. I didn't even know they made twist-ties in this many colors! I'm going to add some sequins, because they do catch the light in a very sparkly way.

Your Holiday Mom: Offering Our LGBTQ Youth A Virtual Home For The Holidays
This is a wonderful project in its third year, involving written and recorded messages from moms who want to extend their familial love to anyone who needs it this holiday season. You can follow them on wordpress, twitter, tumblr (Shamama also posts individual messages of support to those who submit asks on tumblr), and/or subscribe via email to have a message from a mom delivered to your inbox daily. I can't say enough good about it, so here's their own description:
"Hello Dear Friends!
Welcome to Your Holiday Mom, where supportive moms have gathered here to send a holiday message to all LGBTQ children, teens and adults who are without family support and who would like a “stand-in Holiday family.” Knowing that not every parent is ready to accept her own LGBTQ child exactly as-is (as hard as this is for us to imagine), we have written to extend our love beyond that of our own family.
We are not celebrities. We are everyday friends and family from everyday homes. Many, but not all, have LGBTQ children of our own (hence, some use full names and photos, and some do not). Many, but not all, are straight. In other words, even our writers here represent diversity. The vast majority of us came together because they heard about the project, yet most have never met me or each other. The common bond we share is that we are so full of love and pride for our own children–LGBTQ and straight–we wanted to extend ourselves beyond our own families and do something more.
For the 2014 season, our wonderful letter editor is Lisa Jamus from Calgary, Alberta! Thank you so much Mom Lisa.
We wish you a happy, love-filled Holiday Season!
With Love, *Shamama
